It's one of the most common questions we get: will a sticker survive rain, a car wash or a trip through the dishwasher? Here's the honest answer for Sticker Apple stickers, plus a few tips to make yours last as long as possible.
Are Sticker Apple stickers waterproof?
Yes. Every sticker is printed on vinyl and covered with a protective laminate, which makes it waterproof, UV resistant and scratch resistant. Rain, snow, spilled drinks and ice-filled coolers won't hurt it. Outdoors, our stickers are made to stay bright for up to two years, often longer. Indoors, on a laptop or notebook, they can last for years.
Can I take my car through a car wash?
Yes, once the sticker has had 24 hours to set after you apply it. Regular car washes are fine. If you use a pressure washer yourself, don't aim it straight at the edge of a sticker, since a strong spray at the edge can lift it over time.
Are they dishwasher safe?
We recommend hand-washing cups, tumblers and water bottles with stickers on them. The sticker is waterproof, but the high heat and strong detergent in a dishwasher are hard on any sticker's adhesive and edges. Hand-washing with a soft sponge is the easiest way to keep it looking new.
What about heat and cold?
- Hot sun: the UV-resistant laminate helps keep colors from fading on truck windows and coolers.
- Cold weather: once applied, stickers handle freezing temperatures fine. Just don't apply one to a freezing-cold surface, since the adhesive needs room temperature to grab.
How to make your sticker last longer
- Apply to a clean, dry surface. Wipe it with rubbing alcohol first.
- Press firmly from the center out, especially around the edges.
- Wait 24 hours before it gets wet.
- Hand-wash cups and bottles, and skip scrub pads over the sticker.
